Summer Reading

Even though I'm still reading The Hidden Target, and vowed not to get any books for myself when I entered Barnes & Noble to get my daughter a book, I couldn't resist the summer reading table, and bought two paperbacks, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou, and Women & Fiction: Short Stories by and about Women written by various women authors (Willa Cather, Margaret Drabble, Alice Walker, Eudora Welty, and many more). With all this good reading to look forward to, I want nothing more to do this summer than read! I already have several other books on my reading list for the summer and didn't need any more books but I got them anyway.

  3. I love the photograph of the flowers you posted! Is that from your artistic eye? Stunning! It could be a painting!

  4. Eriko, I took the photo this morning after the sky brightened. For the longest time, we thought these sunflowers were pepper plants, because they were in our vegetable garden. When they started to tower above us and produced buds, we realized they were sunflowers, finally getting enough water to grow from the seeds I had planted several months ago.
