Congratulations to PA and Jinky! Each won a copy of Kaleidoscope: An Asian Journey of Colors, a collection of poems by Sweta Srivastava Vikram. And Miss Lissy has won a copy of An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon. Congratulations, Miss Lissy! Thanks to everyone who participated in these giveaways. It was a lot of fun for me to host them and to read all of the wonderful comments. If you didn't win this time, please take a look at the other book giveaways posted on the right side of my blog and try your luck again if anything appeals to you.
Last week, Avis from She Reads and Reads included some photos of her photogenic cat, Cairo, in her Really Random Tuesday post, whereas Naida from the bookworm often posts photos of Diego, her adorable chihuahua. Today Veens from Giving Reading a Chance treats us to some pictures of her very beautiful baby boy. This Tuesday, I decided to include some photos as well. I don' t have a baby at this point in my life, but I do have a cat and a dog.

My guess is that most book bloggers prefer cats to dogs, but I could certainly be wrong. (I would have thought that Virginia Woolf was a cat person, due to her introspective nature, yet she wrote the biography Flush, a book devoted to a cocker spaniel owned by Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning.) Perhaps many of you, like me, appreciate the attributes of cats and dogs. Are you a cat person or a dog person--or both, like me?

Really Random Tuesday is a way to post odds and ends--announcements, musings, quotes, photos--any blogging and book-related things you can think of. If you're inspired by this idea, feel free to copy the button and use it on your own blog. Please leave a link in the comments if you’re participating. Thanks for reading!
I actually like both, but only have a dog since both my son and I are allergic to cats.
ReplyDeleteI have both too. Although the cat is really mine and the dog is more my hubby. I am allergic to cats too Kathy, so I just suffer.
ReplyDeleteSuko - your pets are adorable.
I have both a cat and a dog. I think cats are easier to care for, especially since they more or less take care of themselves. That was a fun Random Tuesday post. I always enjoy reading your Random Tuesdays.
ReplyDeleteI like both cats and dogs. Had a Sheepdog when I was young. Most recently I had a very loved cat. Sure do miss her. Love that photo of Jenny smooshing her cheek into the pillows! They both look sweet.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable!!!! I also have a cat and a dog (named Roma the Dog and Puppy the Cat). Love these pictures!!
ReplyDeleteYeay, I won!! Thank you soooo much! You totally made my day!! --I've emailed you my addy so if you didn't get a message from me (Mom of Three)then I must have a wrong email addy for you.

ReplyDeleteJinky, I did get your email. Thanks and I hope you enjoy the book.
Thanks for all the comments. More are welcomed.
congrats to the winners! I prefer dogs, mostly because I'm allergic to cats. Ironically, Diego is very catlike in his mannerisms....lol.
ReplyDeleteSara and Jenny are too cute!!
Thanks for the mention :)
Happy Tuesday.

What a great post. I LOVE animals period, but I prefer cats (we have 4). They are just easier, as I would not want to walk a dog in snow or rain...LOL
ReplyDeleteHow rude of me to push SEND before commenting on those adorable pets of yours. We've seen the dog (so cute(, but never the cat...lovely color. Thanks 4 sharing.
ReplyDeleteI am a dog person all the way :)
ReplyDeleteAnd my hubby loves cats, i can't even remember how many he has had ;)
End result, we don't have either :)
Your pets are so cute :) Thanks for linking my post up :)
I like the font on the header, Suko!
ReplyDeleteNaida, thanks for doing RRT again. Love the crocheted hats and scarf. You are extremely talented!
ReplyDeleteDiane, thanks! We are lucky out here because Jenny can let herself out; but we try to walk her for fitness (hers and ours).
Veens, thank you for your kind words and for doing RRT! :)
Oh, your cat is beautiful and what a wise face! I do prefer them (have 2), but I like dogs also, especially the larger breeds. Your Jenny looks mighty comfortable on "her" couch.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the giveaway winners!
Congratulations to the giveaway winners!! :)
ReplyDeleteVery cute pics. I'm a dog person all the way. Love them.
Congratulations to the winners! I hope they enjoy the books! I am an animal person, and have both cats and dogs (and birds) I love all types of animals, but I think dogs are my favorite. Great photos of your animals, they are adorable!
ReplyDeleteMore of a cat person than a dog person (though I have shared my life with both) I especially loved the photo of Sara.
ReplyDeleteI love both cats and dogs but cats have my heart. I have three of the furry little things!
ReplyDeleteI love both, but cats are #1 to me :)
ReplyDeleteDs, thank you! You are right--that is Jenny's couch! But sometimes she lets me share it with her for "reading couch".
ReplyDeletePriya, thanks for your input! For some reason I thought you'd be a cat person.
Zibilee, thanks for your comment. I've never had a pet bird. But we do have turtles.
Petty, thank you! Sara is a sweet cat, and she's quite vocal as well.
Charleydog, you may need to change your name to Charleycat.
Yvonne, of course you are a cat person!
More comments welcomed. :)
One vote for pound puppies. And as someone who writes about a monochrome brown world, I have to express my admiration for that color-rich Kaleidoscope cover!
ReplyDeleteHmmm I'm definitely a dog person but I do like cats too, I have one so I better LOL! Thank you for sharing pics of your babies, they are ADORABLE!!!!
ReplyDeleteXOXO~ Renee
