New Year's Reading Resolutions Giveaway Hop

Oprah is sagacious. In 2011, we have the chance to start fresh with a brand new year. I've been cleaning and organizing my household for the past several days, and have also given some thought to refining my reading and writing goals for the new year. I intend to carve out more time for reading, and I hope to also write more (and more incisive) book reviews; I may even try my hand at writing some short fiction. It's exciting to be at the beginning of both a new year and a new decade. I hope that health, opportunity, luck, and meaningful work are in store for each of us in 2011.

It's not Friday, but it is time for the Hop! The New Year's Reading Resolutions Giveaway Hop is hosted by Candace from Candace's Book Blog, Lori at Pure Imagination, and Angel from Reading Angel, and lasts from January 3 until January 9th. Over 100 blogs are participating with their own book related giveaways! I am giving away a gift certificate for $25 from Amazon.com. Because I have readers around the world, my giveaway is international.

    I haven't given too much thought to resolutions so far. I have some reading and blogging goals set up for the new year. I'm going to make myself a priority in 2011. I want to be the best "me" that I can possibly be. This includes health plans and personal development.

    +1 for resolutions:
    One of my new year's resolutions is to stop buying more books than I read, as I don't have the space or the money for it (I'm kinda broke). Another resolution is to finally start applying for the 3 internships I need to get to this year, I've been lazy and I need to get one in neurology, which is highly popular and I may want to pursue a career in it.

    One resolution I've made is to take better care of me. I've got CFS/ME and 2010 was a very rough year for me health wise. I'm determined to do everything I can to make life as good for myself as possible, which mostly involves not allowing myself to get stressed out excessively, because that just makes me sicker.

    I am not one to put much stock in resolutions but one thing I would like to do this year since I read on average 4 books a week and do not have a blog is keep track of all the books I read this year...and possible write a review or two. Maybe whenI get a full time assistant at work I can have time to get my own blog...until then it is good reads for me!
